The Watch Face Format is the official declarative XML standard co-developed by Google and Samsung for Wear OS. It eliminates the need to bundle Kotlin/Java binaries on the watch, allowing the device's low-power co-processor to draw the screen directly. Starting with Wear OS 5, it is mandatory for Google Play Store publication.
